The tragedy occurred on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m., in a residential area of Margate, a town in Broward County near Fort Lauderdale. Kenya Glasgow and his daughter Kennedi had just gotten out of their vehicle when they were struck by lightning.
